From 31 January 2011, the laws surrounding the management of written-off vehicles will change. The reforms state that all vehicles classified as write-offs in NSW after the introduction of the legislation will be automatically categorised as statutory (permanent) write-offs. This means they will only be able to be sold for parts or spare metal.
